How can I support my local bookstore with my shopping?

Excellent question! The Australian publishing ecosystem relies on independent bookshops to provide diverse book selections for readers. Booksellers share their invaluable love and knowledge books and reading in a way hat is impossible to replicate online. Go to Love your Bookshop to find your closest local store. Many local shops also offer online shopping and local delivery.

Do you donate a percentage of your profits?

We have a company policy to donate 5% of our online sales to a First Nations organisation. Each year we assess this commitment. For the past five years we have donated to the Indigenous Literary Foundation. In 2021/2022 we’re donating to Common Ground. Common Ground is a First Nations-led not-for-profit organisation that works to amplify and back First Nations voices, embed First Nations knowledge, and support culturally-led storytelling projects.

What do you do to ensure your books are ethically produced?

On each of our imprint pages you will find an FSC statement, ensuring that our books are printed on Forestry Stewardship Council certified paper and other approved materials, using vegetable-based inks.

Do you take interns?

We currently don’t have the capacity for interns as we juggle work-from-home and the ongoing impact of Covid-19. When we’re able, we’d love to start an intern program—please sign up to our newsletter for our latest updates.
